Job Description: 

Palliser Sales Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Red Seal Agriculture Equipment Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of agricultural or heavy equipment. This role requires an individual with strong technical skills, a passion for working with large machinery, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities: 

– Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural or heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, combines, loaders, excavators, and more. 

– Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify issues and perform repairs. 

– Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs to ensure the equipment operates at optimal efficiency. 

– Test and operate repaired equipment to verify repairs are successful. 

– Keep detailed records of service work, including parts used and hours worked on equipment. 

– Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations. 

– Use specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical manuals to conduct repairs. 

– Assist in training apprentices and provide mentorship where necessary. 

Qualifications: 

– Red Seal Certification as an Agriculture Equipment Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician. 

– Minimum 4 years of experience with agricultural or heavy-duty equipment. 

– Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical systems. 

– Proficiency with diagnostic software and specialized tools. 

– Excellent understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems. 

– Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality repairs. 

– Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. 

– Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 

– Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Skills:

 – Basic welding and fabrication skills are an asset. 

– Familiarity with computerized inventory and work order systems. 

Physical Requirements 

– Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 60-70 lbs). 

– Standing, walking, bending, and crouching for extended periods. 

– Ability to work in varying weather conditions as needed.
